Iron Ore Roasting Rotary Kilns for Sale
Savona Equipment offers used, new surplus and refurbished ore roasting rotary kilns. Rotary kilns are used to heat solids to the point where a required chemical reaction takes place. These pyroprocessing devices are designed to raise materials to a high-temperature in a continuous roasting process called calcination. Rotary kilns are commonly used for roasting sulfide ores before metal extraction. They consist of a slightly inclined, rotating cylindrical vessel where processed materials are fed into the upper end and gradually move downward as the kiln rotates, undergoing stirring and mixing as they are heated.
Rotary kilns are available in two types: direct-fired and indirect-fired. In Direct-Fired Kilns hot gases are generated by a flame inside the kiln, projected from a burner pipe. For Indirect-Fired Kilns hot gases are produced in an external furnace and passed through the kiln to heat the materials.
Fuels such as gas, oil, pulverized petroleum coke or coal are commonly used.
